Santorini

The power of the volcanic island of Santorini creates an energy that overwhelms the senses. Exquisite luxury, amazing food and wine and the unforgettable Santorini sunset are just the start of what this legendary Greek island in the Cyclades offers visitors.
Santorini is an island-phenomenon whose reputation precedes it. And for good reason. On this legendary island in the Cyclades, all your senses seem magnified, a product of its many contrasts: black earth against whitewashed homes clinging to the cliff-side, or wild volcanic sculptures against sleek Cycladic lines. Santorini is an island immortalised by poets and painters thanks to its celebrated light, multicoloured cliffs and picture-perfect sunsets.

Milos

To many, Milos is the most exotic island in the Aegean Sea because of its extraordinary colours and landscape and it is, without doubt, one of the most impressive in the Cyclades. Volcanic rocks paint the beaches red, pink and orange.
The highlights of Milos seem endless: Sarakiniko and Kleftiko, with their white rock formations, emerald green waters and caves eroded by the sea, are steeped in stories of pirates. But they are rivalled by early Christian catacombs, an array of beaches and the multicoloured settlements of Klima, Emborios and Mandrakia, with their quaint buildings cut into the cliffs and Plaka’s sunsets.

    Boat trip around Milos

Counting more than 70 beaches around the island, Milos is blessed with marvelous and pristine shores. This volcanic land, a wonder of nature, with strong winds and big waves sculpt its impressive lacy shores and has become a renown destination.

Rhodes

The medieval Old Town, port of Mandraki, Acropolis of Lindos, ancient cities of Kamiros and Ialysos, Valley of the Butterflies… Rhodes has so many highlights, that one visit is never enough.
The landscape of this Dodecanese island has so much eye-catching beauty that it’s no wonder Rhodes is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Greece. This is where vast sandy beaches, clear waters, castles and ancient civilisations effortlessly mix with gourmet restaurants and traditional tavernas serving local delicacies.
Rhodes is a beautiful mosaic of experiences: the island of knights and the mythical Colossus of Rhodes, where Byzantines, Greeks, Venetians and Turks all left something to remember them by. Alongside luxury resorts are villages where women still bake bread in an outdoor wood-fired oven.

IONIAN SEA

Corfu - Kefalonia - Zakynthos - Lefkada

The sapphire waters of the Ionian Sea welcome you to paradise. Kefalonia, Corfu, Zakynthos (Zante), Lefkada, Ithaca, and Paxos. all are wonderful holiday destinations off the west coast of Greece that you’ll adore discovering. The major islands of Greece’s Ionian Sea lived for centuries under Venetian rule and it shows in their castles and churches. Carpeted with olive trees, pines and vineyards, the Ionian Islands are fertile and green, a stunning setting for award-winning white-sand beaches and peacock-blue waters. You’ll also find that the hospitable citizens have music in their souls.

Corfu

Corfu has a rich history that weaves a bewildering number of influences, with the Venetians, English, French and Russians all flourishing here and leaving their mark on the island.
In the Old Town, you’ll feel like an aristocrat walking along Liston Arcade and Spianada Square and gazing up at the Venetian forts and churches. And you’ll adore the romance of the labyrinth-like alleyways of Campiello (the medieval quarter of the Old Town) as well as the beat of the marching bands, particularly on festival days.
Holidays on Corfu are also famous for the food – with the many cultural influences expressed in dishes that show off Italian touches and the island’s delicious Mediterranean produce.
And don’t forget the beaches and swimming spots dotted around the island – not least the Canal d'Amour, where legend has it you’ll find your soulmate. Corfu island certainly knows how to seduce you.

Kefalonia

Between the other islands of the Ionian Sea stands grand Kefalonia. Much-photographed, much-talked about, much-loved by Greeks and foreigners alike. Not just because of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, the 2001 film set on Kefalonia island that attracted so much attention, but also because of its sheer beauty, stately towns and many other impressive attractions.
Argostoli, Lixouri, Fiskardo, Assos, Lake Melissani ... the names alone are something to marvel at! Kefalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands, renowned for its emerald-green mountains and the sparkling azure waters and dazzling beaches of the Ionian Sea, has been a popular holiday spot in Greece for decades.

Zakynthos

The Venetians called Zante Fiore di Levante, the Flower of the East, and its nobility and fertility made it the jewel of their empire. Today’s visitors to the southernmost Ionian Island (known as Zakynthos in Greek) would agree, though they come mostly for its iconic beaches – Lagana, Tsilivi, Argassi, Kalamaki, Alykes – where British, French and Italians know how to have a good time.
Looking for lifelong memories? You’ll find them when you swim at the famous Shipwreck Beach, watch the sunset from the cliffs of Keri and Kryoneri, listen to the islanders sing their cantatas and see the endangered caretta caretta sea turtles lay their eggs in the island’s white sands. Welcome to your holidays in Zante, the Ionian island that has it all.

CRETE

Heraklion - Chania - Agios Nikolaos - Lasithi

The largest island in Greece, Crete is renowned for its pin-up beaches, wild natural beauty, exquisite cuisine and thousands of years of culture and history. As Crete’s most celebrated author, Nikos Kazantzakis (of Zorba the Greek fame), once wrote: “The mystery of Crete runs deep. Whoever sets foot on this island senses a mysterious force coursing warmly and beneficently through their veins, sensing their soul beginning to grow.”  Unsurprisingly, this mystical, pure and generous island to the south of the Aegean Sea captures the spirit of Greece and enchants everyone who visits. Heraklion, Rethymno, Chania, Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, Ierapetra, Malia, Hersonissos, Sitia, Sfakia… wherever you visit, it’s an island of thousands of vibrant images, filled with an open-hearted and vivacious spirit, rich history, world-famous cuisine and hospitable people.

Heraklion

Heraklion is a multifaceted seaside city in Crete that embraces both past and present. The vibrant city of today, with squares and pedestrian walkways, is filled with youthful energy, restaurants and bars, but so much of its charm still concentrates around the Old Town and its romantic Venetian harbour.
Heraklion has excellent museums and one of the largest aquariums in Europe. And for history buffs, without doubt the most fascinating ancient treasure of the region (also known as Heraklion) lies just beyond the city limits. Knossos Palace wasn’t just the most important centre of Minoan civilisation but it was the home of the legendary Minotaur and its labyrinth. Sound interesting? Well, let’s introduce you to the best of Heraklion.

Domestic products: Cretan cheese "Xinomizithra", Raki, Cretan Gruyere, Olives, Olive oil, Wine, Escargot, Honey, Dakos, Wild greens, Herbs.

Chania

It seems that Chania was always one of the most popular destinations in Greece. Romans, Byzantines, Venetians, Ottomans… all came through Chania settled here at one time or another, creating the multicultural corner of Crete we can enjoy today.
Wandering around the port of Chania, you’ll encounter the Venetian lighthouse, the Grand Arsenal, Kum Kapi and Halepa. And beyond the town, you’ll find the famous beaches of Agia Marina, Stalos and Platanias. Go a little further still and you’ll reach exotic Balos and Falasarna, two of Greece’s pin-up beaches.
And in southern Chania, the world-famous Samaria Gorge invites you to explore it. So much to do, so little time in which to do it!

Antikristo is one of the oldest and most unique techniques of cooking meat and is traced as far back as the ancient times of Homer’s Iliad. Antikristo is a traditional way of cooking that can be found in different parts of the world but is deeply rooted in Cretan culture, especially in the mountainous areas. It is a technique that has been embraced from soldiers in ancient times, to those in the Byzantine Empire, by the rebels during the Turkish occupation and shepherds and herdsmen throughout time. The procedure of cooking Antikristo almost reminds you of a ritual. To make Antikristo, the cook will typically use a young lamb or on some rare occasions, a goat. The animal is cut up in four, seasoned with salt, and passed through huge wooden skewers that are later on placed around the fire.

Rethymno

The main town of the Cretan prefecture that carries the same name, Rethymno hides its secrets in plain sight. Walking around is like travelling back in time, to the period of Venetian rule in Crete. The Fortezza (fortress) sits atop Rethymno’s magical old town like a crown. And you can hear the echoes of the sea and as you walk along the Venetian port with its old lighthouse and get lost in the maze of alleyways, admiring the ornate doorways and the Venetian crests that decorate them. You’ll also visit the mosques with their minarets and hop between the dozens of shops, restaurants and cafes that give Rethymno its special atmosphere. And as a final bonus, Crete’s longest beach – all 12km of it – awaits just outside town.

Messinia

Greek summer at its finest: beautiful beaches, quaint fishing villages, endless olive groves, coastal and mountain trails with glorious views. And beyond that: ancient civilizations, Mycenaean palaces and the Gialova wetland, the only one of its kind in Greece. You’ll go hiking at Paleokastro, walk around the ruins at Neokastro and at the Methoni and Koroni castles, followed by a lovely lunch or dinner at tavernas on the water, serving fresh fish and meze. Or perhaps a round of golf?
Piece by piece, you’ll put together the puzzle that is Messinia. One summer on the southwestern coastline of the Peloponnese is never enough.

Domestic Products: Olive oil, Kalamata olives, Kalamate mustard, Figs, Dried grapes, Siglino "Pork salt of Messinia", Fir honey, Mani salt, Fleur de sel

Euboea

Euboea, the second largest island of Greece and the third in the eastern Mediterranean, is located close to the Prefecture of Attica. However, it has a somewhat mainland character, since two bridges - the modern, suspended one and the older, sliding one - link it to mainland Greece, called "Sterea Ellada”.

    St. John the Russian

Saint John the Russian (1690 – 1730) is one of the most renowned saints in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Being a prisoner of war and a slave to a Turkish Ağa, he became famous and respected even by his Muslim master for his humility, steadiness in faith and benevolence. His holy relics are claimed to be undecayed and wonder-working; there are traditions that this saint particularly helps sick children and those who suffer from cancer.

Argosaronic Gulf

The islands of the Argosaronic Gulf are ever-popular with sailors, primarily because they are so close to Athens. Despite their proximity to the Greek capital, they are packed with as much atmosphere and charm as their more distant cousins in the outer Aegean. The whole area has retained its natural beauty, enhanced by the sense of history, with delightful little ports and coves.
Among their great advantages is that the south coast of Attica protects them from strong winds and rough seas, which in combination with the sheltering arm of the northern Peloponnese makes them practically a big closed bay, with invariably calm and safe seas enabling flotilla and family yachting holidays in Greece.

EPIRUS

Ioannina - Thesprotia - Preveza

Rugged mountains, hidden bays, traditional villages, natural beauty and exhilarating activities: meet the myriad faces of Epirus.
In Epirus, the people seem to blend in with the land. You’ll meet a different Greece at this crossroads of civilisations and landscapes in the west of the country, between the Pindos Mountains and the Ionian Sea. Peaks, gorges, rare plants and animals, lakes, rivers and an indented coastline of sandy beaches complement the ancient ruins of Dodoni and dozens of medieval castles, monasteries, arched bridges and traditional stone-built villages.
The destinations are many and varied. From the picturesque Zagorohoria villages, Metsovo and Tzoumerka, to atmospheric Ioannina and the summer resorts of Parga and Syvota, Epirus will welcome you at any time of year and deliver on all its promises.

Ioannina

Myths surround the city of Ioannina. They hover in the mist that often hangs over its lake and the island in its centre. This time, the myths don’t revolve around gods and heroes, but rather historical personalities. Chief among them is Ali Pasha, the maverick 19th-century Turko-Albanian ruler and his court. Intertwined with Ioannina’s history, other myths haunt the old, walled district, the Kastro, the citadel of Its Kale, the Byzantine monasteries on the Island and the rich museums. They are an inseparable part of the city’s life and you will feel their presence even in its green parks, in the little shops on Independence Street, in the groups of lively university students and their hangouts, and in the lakeside restaurants, bars and cafes. You’ll catch glimpses of them in the peerless work of Ioannina’s famed silversmiths. And they may even follow you up to the cave at Perama, the theatre at Dodoni and the Zagorohoria mountain villages. You’ll be captivated by the legends surrounding this beautiful city in Epirus.

Domestic products: Silver jewelery, Metsovone cheese, Beans, Tsipouro, Textiles. Milk, Butter, Herbs, Wine, Still water, Sker Burek

    Mount Athos tour

Mount Athos (Hagion Oros), or Holy Mountain, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a self-governed part of the Greek State, administrated by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. Mount Athos consists of 20 Orthodox monasteries and is also known as the Autonomous Monastic State of the Holy Mountain. The origins of its name vary. One source says that while the Gods and the Giants were fighting, the Giant Athos threw a massive rock at the god Poseidon which fell into the sea and became Mount Athos.
